Here is another brunch place for you to try in Dublin this weekend. POG is a chain of restaurants spread in different parts of Ireland. They have a restaurant at Clontarf, Malahide, Howth, Tara Street and Bachelors Walk. Check out their websites before visiting, as some restaurants allow walk-ins while others may require you to reserve a table. I prefer going to places where I can book a table so I don't have to wait in queue for a long time, especially during weekends, so I chose the POG located at Tara Street and visited with a reservation.

The staff at POG Tara Street greeted my friends and me with a warm welcome and seated us. Since it was Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was gushing with people relishing their meals. The vibe of the restaurant is quite lovely and refreshing. This restaurant is known for its pancakes and brunch menu. It is a great place to catch up with friends especially during the weekend. They close at 4 pm daily, so their menu includes brunch and pancakes.

Skinny Bitch Smoothie

POG has an extensive drinks menu, and I, for a change, chose a healthy drink for myself. I ordered a Skinny Bitch Smoothie, which includes raspberry, strawberry and apple. It was pretty tasty and was an excellent start to my brunch. Next, my husband ordered a Strawberry Blonde Smoothie, which consists of strawberry, coconut milk, orange and banana. Of course, as someone who loves all these fruits, he also enjoyed his drink. Finally, my friends ordered Peach Iced Tea and Nutella Hot chocolate, which I was told was tasty.

Harissa Chicken Sambo

Moving on from the drinks, we each ordered ourselves a dish. Since they had limited options with Chicken, I opted for the Harissa Chicken Sambo and added an extra of regular fries. The toastie was as I had expected it to be; tasty and filling, because of the extra fries I ordered.

Breakfast Board

My husband ordered the Breakfast Board, including bacon, black pudding, spicy beans, gourmet sausages, fried eggs, grilled halloumi, and bretzel sourdough (wheat). This dish is typical among eateries that serve brunch in Ireland. The dish lived up to his expectations and was very appetizing

One of my friends also ordered the Harissa Chicken Sambo with extra sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries. This was the first time I tried sweet potato fries, and I found them intriguing and delicious.

Nduja Eggs with Extra Black Pudding

My other friend ordered Nduja eggs with an extra Black Pudding. It consists of sourdough bread topped with scrambled eggs and some bacon. The dish was appetizing but not as filling as the other food items.

Kinder Delight Pancake

Finally, because POG is known for its pancakes, we could not leave without trying one. We ordered one pancake for the table, which was a good decision because the pancake was extremely heavy and filling. So we went for the Kinder Delight Pancake, which includes layers of pancakes surrounded by kinder sauce, raspberry, strawberry, milk chocolate and crisped rice. The pancake was nice, but I was not too fond of the accompaniment of raspberry with chocolate because the raspberry was sour and did not taste great with the sweetness of white chocolate.

Overall, the experience was satisfying. We enjoyed catching up with friends while tasting delicious food at POG Tara Street. Check out this restaurant and do try their smoothies and pancakes when you visit.
