Here is yet another food blog about my second favourite cuisine, which is Mexican. Mexican cuisine is quite popular in Ireland. Presenting you with one of the most trendy restaurant in Dublin called Masa. Masa is located at 2-3 Drury street, Dublin 2, a restaurant for you to catch up with friends and taste some yummy dishes. So, read on to see what this restaurant offers.

The Bar at Masa

First of all, because this is a trendy restaurant, it is necessary that you make a reservation before visiting. Even on weekdays, this restaurant is busy with people catching up with friends or enjoying a cocktail from their classy bar. Masa is a great place to grab a cocktail and have a quick snack from its limited but reasonably priced menu.

So as I sat with my friend after waiting 40 minutes for a table (I did not have a reservation), I was greeted by their friendly staff, who offered us their food and drinks menu. The drinks menu is extensive, but the food menu has minimal options (including vegan).

Since their cocktails are made of 100% Agave tequila, I tried the Fresh Paloma cocktail. This delicious cocktail was made of reposado tequila, fresh grapefruit juice and soda water. Enjoying the lovely view of their bar, I relished my drink to the fullest.

Next, my friend chose the famous Mexican Pornstar cocktail made of Blanco tequila, prosecco, passion fruit, vanilla and lime. Both the cocktails were delicious and worth a try.

The food here is quite reasonably priced, but the portion is small, making it appropriate for the price. As a starter, we ordered Tortilla chips with guacamole. This dish comprised a bowl of tortilla chips with a smaller bowl of avocado, lime, onion, coriander and jalapeños. Again, the dish is reasonably priced; however, we found this dish to be average in taste. Considering that it is a part of Mexican cuisine, I expected it to burst with flavour.

Moving on, we decided to choose some items for our main course. Since their menu is limited, I opted for their famous Chicken Tacos. The plate consisted of two portions of tacos with two fried chicken thighs in each taco with peanuts and salsa macha. The tacos were quite tasty, but the portions were small, and I would consider the dish more of a snack than a main course item.

My friend ordered a Chorizo Tacos for herself. Again this contains two portions of tacos with two minced pork, ancho, pasilla, paprika, onion and coriander. This dish was also quite tasty, but the portion was small for her appetite.

Realizing that our stomachs were not nearly full, we ordered a Black Bean Quesadilla. We were served four small portions of quesadilla comprising cheese, black beans, jalapeños and tomato sauce. The dish was quite tasty and had the flavour I relish in Mexican cuisine.

Overall, I gather that this restaurant is a great place to catch up with your friends.   The restaurant has vibrant interiors and is generally welcoming. The food and the cocktails are pretty tasty. The portions, however, are tiny, with limited options. So the next time you are looking for a trendy place to catch up with a friend for a quick snack, check out Masa in Dublin.
